3 people hit by lightning on St. Pete Beach
ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. - Three people were struck by lightning on St. Pete Beach on Friday, Pinellas County officials confirmed to FOX 13.
What we know:
St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue was dispatched at 12:19 p.m. for reports of a lightning strike at the Pinellas County Beach Access located at 4700 Gulf Blvd.
Crews arrived within three minutes to find a family of three that appeared to be struck by lightning while under an umbrella on the beach.
Crews quickly rendered emergency aid to all victims.
Two adults were treated on-scene and refused any additional medical treatment.
A 17-year-old female was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment.
What we don't know:
The names of those involved have not been released.
